What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. They help a site remember preferences, understand how it is being used and feel less like a hallway that resets every time you turn around. Similar technologies — usually called local storage or session storage — do much the same, without the clever name.

This page covers all of them.

02

How we use them

We keep our footprint deliberately small. Everything we store exists to make the platform work — nothing more.

Essential / Functionalalways on

Required for core features — form progress, security basics and keeping your session intact. The platform cannot function correctly without these.

Preferenceremembered choices

Remember choices such as your theme and language so the site appears the same way on your next visit.

Analyticsoptional

Aggregate, anonymous statistics about visits and interactions that help us improve content and usability. These never identify individual users.

03

What we don’t do

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies of any kind.
  • No cross-site tracking — we don’t follow you around the web.
  • No sensitive data in unencrypted storage — mobile numbers, income figures and enquiry contents are never kept in plain cookies.
04

Third parties

If we ever embed an external service — a map, a chat widget or an analytics provider — that service may place its own cookies, governed by its own policy. We keep such embeds off by default and load them only after you interact. Where a third party is involved, its policy deserves a skim before you engage.

05

Managing cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies at any time — every serious browser keeps these controls under its privacy settings. A few caveats worth knowing:

  • Blocking essential storage may affect how forms behave.
  • Deleting cookies clears saved preferences — your theme choice resets, for instance.
  • Private or incognito windows are the easy way to limit persistence automatically.
06

Local storage

For technical robustness, some preferences may live in your browser’s local storage rather than classic cookies. They follow the same principles described above and can be cleared from your browser’s site-data settings whenever you like.

One line of comfort: nothing here is about tracking you. Everything is about keeping your experience quiet, consistent and yours.

07

Changes to this policy

We may tune this policy as our technology evolves. The latest version is always published on this very page, with an updated date, so there is never a question about which one is current.
